The Reality Of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
PCOS. No it’s not the name of a new Corona Virus strain. Polycystic ovary syndrome,
As we age it is very common for small thread veins to become visible on the face and legs. Whilst completely harmless, they can be unsightly and impact self-confidence.
These small veins can be easily removed with a short and simple laser treatment. Depending on the size of the area affected, each treatment may only take 15-30 minutes, an entirely non-invasive treatment with little or no discomfort.
Thread veins, sometimes known as broken veins or spider nevi (due to their cobweb like appearance) are tiny, twisted red blood vessels that run close to the surface of the skin making them visible. These veins are not actually broken, only slightly enlarged, known medically as telangiectasia. The most common areas of the body to experience thread veins is on the face and legs.
During treatment the laser light passes safely through the skin, heating the targeted blood vessel carefully so the blood in the vessel coagulates, subsequently causing the vein to break down. The veins then gradually dissolve and are removed by the body’s natural immune system. The treated veins will then gradually fade for up to 4 weeks after treatment leaving the skin clear.
Thread veins most commonly appear in men and women over the age of 40, however they can appear at a younger age. We are able to treat these veins easily on both the face and the legs.
We recommend at least 3-4 treatments, with each appointment lasting one hour.
This treatment is suitable for all skin types and requires a skin patch test.
There is a mild to moderate treatment discomfort with a post treatment downtime of 48 hours recovery.
