Using the Duetto MT’s Alexandrite (755nm) and Nd:YAG (1064nm) lasers, we can work with high precision and deliver truly outstanding results. The only one of its kind on the market, with its two different lasers the Duetto MT allows us to use single or combined emissions, making us extremely specific in how we treat each individual client’s needs.
The Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers may sound like a cross between ancient history and a maths equation, but in practice we use them both incredibly successfully for treatments like Hair Removal, Vascular Rejuvenation, and Skin Rejuvenation, across all skin types. Their specific wavelengths of light (755nm and 1064nm) are now recognised industry wide as the gold standard wavelengths for best clinical outcome. Due to their effectiveness in addressing a range of skin conditions, we can now target various chromophores (melanin, haemoglobin, and water) and offer nu-beau clients versatile, highly effective solutions.
Hair Removal
755nm (Alexandrite)
- Targets melanin in the hair follicle with high precision
- Effective for light to medium skin tones (Fitzpatrick types I-III)
- The wavelength penetrates the dermis, heating and destroying the follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue
1064nm (Nd:YAG)
- Has deeper penetration and a lower affinity for melanin, making it suitable for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick types V-VI)
- Reduces risk of hyperpigmentation and burns in patients with higher melanin content
Broken Capillaries and Vascular Lesions
1064 nm (Nd:YAG)
- Targets oxyhaemoglobin in blood vessels
- Coagulates and destroys the vessel walls while sparing the surrounding skin
- Ideal for treating deeper, larger blood vessels, spider veins and vascular lesions
Rosacea and Redness
1064nm (Nd:YAG)
- Reduces redness by targeting dilated blood vessels under the skin, calming flare-ups
- Deeper penetration minimises inflammation and erythema without triggering post-inflammatory pigmentation
755nm (Alexandrite)
- Less commonly used for rosacea, as it can increase risks of pigmentary changes in sensitive skin. However, in lighter skin types, it can reduce diffuse redness
Hyperpigmentation and Sun Damage
755nm (Alexandrite)
- Excellent for targeting melanin in sunspots, freckles and age spots
- Melanin absorbs the laser energy, causing pigmented cells to fragment and be reabsorbed by the body
1064nm (Nd:YAG)
- Can treat deeper pigmentation issues, such as dermal melasma
- Minimises risk of skin damage in darker skin types due to reduced melanin absorption
Skin Resurfacing (Collagen Stimulation)
1064nm (Nd:YAG)
- Stimulates collagen production through controlled thermal damage deep in the dermis
- Improves skin texture, reduces fine lines, and tightens the skin over time
755nm (Alexandrite)
- Generally less effective for resurfacing as it primarily targets superficial pigmentation rather than the deeper collagen layers
Inflammatory Acne
1064nm (Nd:YAG)
- Targets sebaceous glands, reducing oil production and inflammation
- Induces heat within the skin to kill acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes), reducing active lesions and prevents future breakouts
- Decreases post-inflammatory redness associated with acne scars
