The Reality Of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
PCOS. No it’s not the name of a new Corona Virus strain. Polycystic ovary syndrome,
Botox is used to completely rejuvenate and refresh the upper part of the face, and is among one of our most popular treatments. Treatment areas include lines across the forehead, lines in between the eyebrows (frown lines, otherwise known as ’11’s’), and lines and wrinkles around the eyes (crows feet).
Other areas that can be treated with Botox include: bunny lines; brow lift; smokers lines; a downturned mouth; gummy smile; orange peel chin; eyebrow lift; the jowls and the neck (Nefertiti lift); jaw slimming; V shape face; and to treat teeth grinding and migraines.
We specialise in Botox and baby Botox treatments, so whether you are looking for a natural look, or wish to be ‘frozen’, we titrate the treatment to you.
Botox, injected strategically into the facial muscles, can create a beautiful eyebrow arch in less than five minutes. A Botox brow lift will make you feel and appear more wide awake, and raise up ‘heavy lids’.
A Nefertiti lift is a Botox treatment for neck cords (platysmas bands) and / or mild jowls. It is so called after the Egyptian Queen – Queen Nefertiti – who was renowned for her sharp jawline and elegant, youthful neck.
A Nefertiti lift is used to tighten mild jowls, soften the appearance of neck cords, and smooth horizontal neck lines – resulting in a smoother, tighter, and more contoured neck and jawline.
A square, ‘masculine’ jaw shape is often the result of enlarged / strong masseter muscles (the muscles we use when we chew). Strategically injecting Botox into the masseter muscle results in a slimmer, more feminine, more oval, V shaped face. Botox for a slimmer face, injected into the jaw, can also help with teeth grinding (bruxism).
Botox can enhance the appearance of the chin, resulting in a smoother, more contoured, youthful chin. As one ages, the muscle of the chin contracts, resulting in a ‘dimpled, orange peel chin’. Chin Botox relaxes this muscle, resulting in a smoother appearance.
Excessive sweating, otherwise known as hyperhidrosis, is a common problem that can have negative effects on ones confidence. Botox, injected in micro-injections into the underarm area can resolve the problem, preventing excessive sweating by blocking the glands that create the sweat.
When some people smile, they may feel they show too much of their gums– often described as a ‘gummy smile’. As this is often caused by a hyperactive muscle which is responsible for raising the upper lip, this is very quickly, simply, and effectively corrected by Botox.
We typically treat 3 areas at a time, however you can do more if comfortable.
This treatment is suitable for all skin types
The procedure requires minimal recovery and no downtime
There are many non-invasive treatments that can achieve great results for skin tightening and lifting, whether it be for the face, neck or body.
We offer a range of facial tightening treatments – including the ground-breaking Pyramid Facelift which uses Tripollar RF, the latest form of radio frequency using energy to stimulate the fibroblast cells causing collagen fibres to contract, creating immediate skin tightening and encouraging new collagen production that can last up two years.
The Pyramid Facelift is the most ground-breaking, non-surgical, anti-ageing face lift treatments that we offer at nu-beau, delivering both immediately visible and long-lasting results.
Dermal volumisation, skin resurfacing and skin tightening are all delivered in a single one-hour treatment, dramatically reducing lines and wrinkles, lifting and smoothing the skin around the face, eyes and neck.
The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.
We get asked many questions about our skin treatments. Here are just a few of the most common ones. If you have a different question then please do not hesitate to get in contact with Emma.
Anti-wrinkle injections are BOTOX (B0Tulinum TOXin TYPE A) injections.
We use BOCOTURE and AZZALURE in clinic. This is botulinum toxin type A.
Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly used cosmetically to treat fine, moderate, and severe lines and wrinkles on the face. BOTOX is also used for many medical ailments, such as blepharospasm, migraines and excessive sweating. The most common cosmetic / medical aesthetic uses are to treat:
With advanced uses treating:
Essentially, the toxin stops the nerves from talking to the muscle, resulting in lesser movement and therefore smoothing and preventing lines and wrinkles.
BOTOX typically starts to work within 3 – 10 days, with full results at 14 days.
The smoothing effects of anti-wrinkle injections typically last between 3-4 months. However, staying on top of your BOTOX injections helps to improve the skin and muscle tone, so over time many people find that they can go longer between treatments.
Around 15 minutes depending on number of areas.
No. Anti-wrinkle injections start to work within 3-10, with full effects seen at 14 days.
Anti-wrinkle injections are typically used to treat ‘areas’: these are the frown lines (11’s), expression lines (forehead), and crows feet (eye wrinkles). Each of these are ‘one’ area’, and the most common amongst our clients are these typical three areas at once. However, which areas you have treated are completely up to you. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat ‘orange-peel’ chin, ‘bunny lines’, and provide an eyebrow lift – amongst others.
We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding 24hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
Not much! Immediately following injection, the treated areas may be slightly pink and / or ‘bumpy’ for 5 – 10 minutes. Then it’s just a case of waiting for it all to kick in!
Do not touch the injected areas following your treatment. Do not massage the treated areas. Do not wear make-up for an hour (ideally six hours) following treatment. Keep moving the muscles that have been injected for around one hour after treatment as this helps the BOTOX to settle into the muscles (in other words, just move your face as normal!).
Anti-wrinkle injections really are a treatment you can have in your lunch break and return to work straight away, there really is no down time at all!
Anti-wrinkle injections are very safe when injected by experienced medical professionals (we have undertaken hundreds of anti-wrinkle injections
The main risks associated with Botox are associated with the injections themselves – that is, pinprick redness, pinprick bleeding (both of which resolve during the treatment), possible small transitory bumps immediately afterwards (which go within 5-10 minutes), and a small risk of pinprick bruising. There is a risk of dropping the eyebrow, raising the eyebrow, or dropping the eyelid – however, rest assured these are not only very rare when you are treated by a SKILLED MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, but are also correctable.
You cannot have anti-wrinkle injections if:
Anti-wrinkle injections are prescription only, which means if this is your first visit to us you MUST have a consultation at least a day before the anti-wrinkle injections.
This is to ensure product safety and suitability for YOU. Once you have been seen and treated with anti-wrinkle injections at least once, you are able to simply book and be treated without the need for any further, separate consultation.
